Clinical Application
Rochester-Pean curved hemostatic forceps are used to achieve reliable hemostasis by clamping and occluding medium-to-large blood vessels and vascularized tissue during open surgical procedures. Common applications include general and abdominal surgery, trauma, soft-tissue dissection, and preparation for vessel ligation or suture placement where a firm, atraumatic clamp is required along a contoured surface.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry allows the jaws to follow tissue planes and reach around structures while maintaining the surgeon's line of sight. Broad, fully serrated jaws distribute clamping pressure along the bite to secure bleeding points and firm tissue bundles. A standard ratchet-lock mechanism provides secure retention of the clamp when engaged, freeing the operator's hands for other tasks and maintaining consistent compression during ligation.
