Clinical Application
This buttoned probe is intended for atraumatic exploration and guidance within small lumens, ducts and soft-tissue tracts. The rounded "button" tip reduces the risk of inadvertent perforation or tissue snagging when tracing sinus tracts, probing lacrimal or salivary ducts, locating or dilating narrow canals, passing suture or guiding stents and drains. The 18 cm overall length provides reach for deeper access while maintaining tactile feedback for delicate work.
Design & Configuration
The rounded "button" tip delivers an atraumatic contact surface that disperses pressure at the instrument tip, reducing tissue trauma and minimizing the chance of catching on friable tissue. A double-ended configuration allows the clinician to reverse the instrument quickly during a procedure for alternate approach or orientation without changing instruments. The slim shaft and 18 cm length provide a balance of reach and control, supporting precise tactile feedback during probing and passage tasks.
