Clinical Application

The instrument is useful for isolating bowel segments, securing tissue edges during anastomosis or resection, and holding tough connective tissue where a secure, maintained clamp is required. Care should be taken when using on viable bowel to minimize crush injury.

The curved configuration facilitates approach along the convex surfaces of the bowel and deep operative fields, improving line-of-sight and access in abdominal cavities. A ratcheted locking shank maintains consistent clamping pressure without continuous manual force, freeing the assistant or surgeon to perform other tasks.
