Clinical Application
Designed for thoracic surgery, this right-angle atraumatic bronchus clamp provides secure occlusion of bronchial segments during lobectomy, pneumonectomy, segmental resection, and bronchial repair. The atraumatic jaw profile minimizes mucosal and cartilaginous injury when temporarily occluding bronchi, while the 23 cm length offers sufficient reach for both open thoracotomy and many minimally invasive approaches where a right-angle approach is required.
Design & Configuration
The right-angle geometry allows the jaws to approach bronchial structures laterally without requiring excessive retraction or repositioning of surrounding tissues. Atraumatic jaw surfaces distribute clamping pressure to reduce focal trauma to fragile bronchial mucosa and cartilage. A ratcheting locking mechanism permits secure, incremental closure and maintains occlusion during dissection or suturing, freeing the assistant for other tasks.
