Clinical Application
Designed for use with a Caspar cervical retractor system, this retractor blade provides soft-tissue retraction and exposure during anterior cervical spine procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and other anterior cervical approaches. The blade’s footprint is intended to maintain a stable working corridor, protect visceral structures (esophagus, trachea) by distributing pressure over a larger surface, and allow unobstructed access for discectomy, graft placement and anterior plating.
Design & Configuration
The rectangular 70 x 52 mm footprint offers a broad contact surface to distribute retraction forces and reduce focal tissue pressure. The geometry is intended to facilitate consistent exposure across cervical levels while minimizing soft-tissue trauma. The blade is configured to attach to the Caspar retractor frame and posts, providing rigid stabilization of the surgical site so the surgeon can work with both hands for dissection, decompression and instrumentation.
