Clinical Application
This instrument is intended to provide soft-tissue retraction and sustained exposure of the anterior cervical spine during procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), corpectomy, and other anterior cervical exposures. The multi-blade configuration allows targeted retraction of platysma, pretracheal fascia, strap muscles, and deeper soft tissues to maintain a clear operative corridor for discectomy, decompression, implant placement, and anterior plate fixation.
Design & Configuration
The five-blade arrangement permits broad, balanced retraction across the surgical field while enabling focal adjustment of individual blades to accommodate patient anatomy and incision size. Blunt blade tips reduce the risk of soft-tissue tearing and vascular injury compared with sharp hooks, and the blade footprint (90 x 165 mm) offers a combination of depth and width suitable for anterior cervical exposures. The blades are intended for use with standard Caspar-style retractor frames or self-retaining systems, providing stable suspension and freeing personnel for other operative tasks.
