Clinical Application
Designed to obtain endoscopic or proctologic mucosal and submucosal tissue samples, this rectal biopsy forceps is intended for use during proctoscopy, rigid sigmoidoscopy, colorectal procedures, and clinic-based rectal biopsy. The 42 cm shaft provides extended reach for access to distal rectum and rectosigmoid lesions while allowing controlled specimen acquisition suitable for histopathology.
Design & Configuration
The long, rigid shaft geometry gives direct transmission of tactile feedback and bite force from the operator to the distal jaws, improving control when sampling delicate rectal mucosa. The Fig. 3 model designation reflects the manufacturer's specimen-capture jaw arrangement optimized to retain tissue during withdrawal. A low-profile distal head minimizes mucosal trauma and facilitates passage through specula and rigid instruments.
