Clinical Application
This Fig.2 Yankauer suction tube is intended for rapid removal of pooled blood, secretions and particulate matter from the oral cavity and superficial surgical fields. It is commonly used during induction and emergence from anesthesia, oral and ENT procedures, maxillofacial surgery and general surgical cases where controlled high-volume suctioning is required without the need for fine atraumatic aspiration.
Design & Configuration
The rigid, hand-held wand geometry provides direct tactile control and directional suctioning. The bulbous, large-bore tip removes viscous material and clots while minimizing tissue entrapment; a lateral flow-control port allows the operator to modulate suction strength without disconnecting tubing. The 10 cm overall length gives sufficient reach for oropharyngeal access and superficial cavities while preserving visibility and maneuverability in confined operative fields.
