Clinical Application
This round bone curette is intended for precise curettage and controlled removal of bone and soft tissue from limited or confined surgical sites. Common uses include focal debridement of cortical or cancellous bone, shaping bone margins, harvesting small amounts of cancellous bone, and removal of granulation tissue during orthopedic, hand, ENT, maxillofacial and certain spinal or neurosurgical procedures where a focused, scooping action is required.
Design & Configuration
The round bowl tip (Fig. 1) concentrates the cutting edge into a circular scoop, which provides predictable, focal purchase on bone and offers excellent tactile feedback to the surgeon. The 17.5 cm overall length balances reach and control for working within deeper operative fields while maintaining manual precision. The geometry of the round curette minimizes collateral tissue disruption and facilitates controlled scraping, scooping and shaping motions.
