Clinical Application
This round bone curette is designed to remove or shape cancellous and cortical bone and to scrape fibrous or granulation tissue from bone surfaces. It is commonly used during orthopedic procedures (small-bone and joint work), ENT and otologic surgery, hand and foot surgery, and other procedures requiring controlled scooping, debridement, or contouring of bone. The round bowl edge allows precise tissue removal with reduced risk of gouging adjacent structures when compared with more angular curette profiles.
Design & Configuration
The instrument's straight shaft and round, scoop-style cutting edge provide a direct line of access and tactile feedback when approaching flat or concave bone surfaces. The round geometry concentrates scraping force around the rim of the bowl, making it effective for gradual debridement and controlled removal of bone fragments or soft tissue. At 17.5 cm overall length the instrument balances reach with control for use in shallow to moderate-depth operative fields.
