Clinical Application
Designed for establishing and maintaining a secure airway following a tracheostomy, this 9 mm tube is used to facilitate mechanical ventilation, airway clearance, suctioning, and protection of the upper airway. The 9 mm bore is typically selected when a larger internal lumen is required to reduce work of breathing, allow thicker secretions to be managed, or to improve ventilator performance in adult patients.
Design & Configuration
Standard tracheostomy tube geometry positions the distal tip within the trachea while an external neck plate (flange) enables secure fixation to the neck. The tube’s curvature and length are intended to reduce distal end contact with the tracheal wall and to maintain a patent lumen for ventilation and suction. The design commonly accepts compatible obturators and inner cannulae to aid safe placement and facilitate cleaning or exchange.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Tracheostomy tube
- Pattern / model: Wagener Mosher
- Size: 9 mm (tube size as labeled)
- Intended use: Airway access and maintenance following tracheostomy; ventilation and secretion management
- Configuration: Standard tracheal curvature with external flange-compatible design
Material & Construction
The tube is engineered for use with standard tracheostomy accessories (obturators and inner cannulae where applicable) and for compatibility with typical clinical cleaning and sterilization workflows. Smooth internal lumens and a low-profile external interface support routine airway care and reduce sites for secretion retention.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
