Clinical Application

This straight bone curette with a Fig. 3 tip is intended for controlled scraping and debridement of bone and adherent soft tissue. It is used to remove necrotic bone, curette small cortical defects, obtain small cancellous bone samples, and define margins in confined anatomic spaces. Typical specialties include orthopedics, ENT/middle-ear and mastoid work, maxillofacial, hand and foot surgery where a small, precise scoop is required.

Design & Configuration

The straight shaft provides direct axial force transmission for predictable scraping and tactile feedback during curettage. The Fig. 3 scoop-style tip presents a small, concave working surface that concentrates contact area for careful, focal removal of bone or soft tissue in narrow corridors. At 16 cm overall length the instrument balances reach into deeper cavities with surgeon control at the handle, making it suitable for both superficial and moderately deep access where a curved instrument would be less efficient.
