Clinical Application

Provides a controlled, atraumatic access port for visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane. The 7 mm aperture offers a moderate working channel suitable for routine otoscopic examination, targeted cerumen removal, microsuction and guided introduction of small suction tips or extraction forceps. Useful in clinic, ambulatory surgery center and procedural-room settings where reliable visualization and instrument guidance are required.

Design & Configuration

The Troeltsch Fig.2 conical funnel geometry concentrates the visual field and helps direct light and debris away from the tympanic membrane during procedures. The flared rim stabilizes the speculum in the canal and provides a tactile reference for controlled insertion depth, while the smooth, atraumatic edge minimizes patient discomfort. The Fig.2 pattern represents a standardized funnel profile that balances internal working diameter with comfort for a broad range of ear canal anatomies.
