Clinical Application
Designed for operative adenoidectomy, this curette facilitates controlled excision and debridement of adenoid tissue from the nasopharynx. The instrument is intended for use during transoral approaches under direct or endoscopic visualization and is suitable for both primary tissue removal and removal of residual adenoid tissue following suction or shaver use. Its cup-style tip captures and cores tissue, enabling efficient removal with tactile feedback that helps minimize inadvertent injury to surrounding structures.
Design & Configuration
The long 21 cm shaft provides reach into the nasopharynx while allowing the operator to maintain comfortable hand positioning outside the oral cavity. An 8 mm curette cup balances tissue capture with precise control, making it appropriate for pediatric and smaller adult anatomy. The curette-style tip is optimized for scraping and coring motions rather than cutting, permitting staged removal of hypertrophic adenoidal tissue and controlled tactile feedback during curettage.
