Clinical Application
Designed for extraction of sequestra and small cortical bone fragments during open orthopedic debridement, chronic osteomyelitis management, trauma surgery, and maxillofacial procedures. The curved profile enables controlled access into cavities, sinus tracts, and concave bone surfaces where straight forceps have limited reach. Use to securely grasp and remove irregular bone fragments while minimizing manipulation of surrounding soft tissue.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft geometry places the jaw plane at an angle to the handle to improve line-of-sight and reach in deep or confined operative fields. A hinged, plier-style configuration gives direct tactile feedback and mechanical advantage for controlled gripping and extraction. The bone-grasping jaw geometry is intended to cradle or clamp irregular fragments to reduce slip during removal, improving efficiency in debridement and curettage.
