Clinical Application
This double-ended Roux retractor provides low-profile, broad-surface retraction for exposure of superficial wounds and incisions. It is used to hold back skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscle edges during open general and abdominal cases, hernia repair, minor soft-tissue procedures and other situations requiring short-reach manual retraction. The two working ends allow the circulating nurse or surgeon to switch blade orientation quickly without exchanging instruments, supporting efficient tissue handling during dissection, suturing and hemostasis.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration supplies two complementary blade profiles on a single 17 cm instrument, enabling selection of the most appropriate blade width or curvature for the exposure needed without changing tools. The Roux-style blade provides a broad contact surface that distributes retraction force across tissue, reducing focal pressure while maintaining clear exposure in shallow cavities and superficial operative fields. The 17 cm length balances reach with control for handheld retraction in confined operative sites.
