Clinical Application
Designed for secure occlusion of larger vessels and tissue bundles, this straight Rochester-Pean hemostatic forceps is used to control bleeding, grasp and temporarily occlude pedicles, and approximate soft tissue during general, gynecologic and other operative procedures. The instrument's robust jaw profile provides broad compressive contact for dependable hemostasis prior to ligation or cautery.
Design & Configuration
The straight orientation places the jaws in-line with the shaft for direct, perpendicular compression and unobstructed visualization at the point of application. A box-lock joint and ratcheted handle permit precise progressive closure and positive locking at multiple positions, enabling the surgeon to maintain steady clamping pressure without continuous hand tension. Full-length transverse serrations on the jaws increase surface grip on vessels and soft tissue while distributing compressive force to reduce tissue cut-through.
