Clinical Application
Designed for controlled placement of suture where traditional closed-eye needles are inconvenient to load or thread, this Reverdin-style needle supports efficient in-situ suture engagement. It is commonly used for soft-tissue approximation in confined operative fields and procedures that benefit from rapid suture loading and precise needle control, such as layered closures, tendon or ligament repair, and other general surgical applications where access is limited.
Design & Configuration
The open-eye (Reverdin) mechanism permits the operator to engage suture directly into the needle eye without passing the suture point through a closed bore, reducing the need for external threading and allowing faster needle exchanges in tight spaces. The 15 cm overall length provides reach for deeper operative sites while maintaining tactile control during placement. The Fig.4 pattern denotes the manufacturer's specific needle geometry familiar to surgical teams when matching needle shapes to procedural needs.
