Clinical Application
Designed to obtain mucosal and submucosal tissue for histopathologic evaluation, these biopsy specimen forceps are used in proctology, colorectal surgery and endoscopy suites for rectal biopsies. The long shaft permits access to distal rectum and lower sigmoid through an anoscope or rectoscope and facilitates tissue sampling in outpatient, ambulatory surgery and hospital settings.
Design & Configuration
The 42 cm shaft provides extended reach while an integrated handle gives the operator tactile control during positioning and tissue capture. Cup-style specimen jaws are configured to excise and retain small biopsy samples so they can be withdrawn intact for pathology. The long, slender profile is intended to work alongside standard anoscopic and rectoscopic accessories without obstructing the view.
