Clinical Application

This instrument is a Recamier ring curette designed for gynecologic curettage procedures. It is intended for controlled mechanical scraping and sampling of endometrial tissue during dilation and curettage (D&C), endometrial biopsy, evacuation of retained products of conception, and other uterine cavity procedures where blunt ring curettage is indicated. The 19 mm ring diameter provides a broad contact surface suitable for sampling or removal of soft tissue within a typical adult uterine cavity.

Design & Configuration

The flexible shaft configuration permits the working tip to negotiate the cervical canal and conform to uterine contours while maintaining tactile feedback to the operator. The ring-style curette enables even distribution of scraping force around the circumference of the tip for controlled tissue removal. At 31 cm overall length, the instrument provides sufficient reach from the external cervical os to the fundus in standard adult anatomy while keeping the handle external to the field for ergonomic control.
