Clinical Application

This instrument is designed for gynecologic intrauterine procedures that require controlled scraping and tissue retrieval, such as diagnostic endometrial sampling, dilation and curettage (D&C), and removal of retained products of conception or debridement of the uterine cavity. The combination of a figure-8 loop and a flexible shaft facilitates atraumatic engagement and collection of endometrial tissue under direct visualization or controlled blind technique.

Design & Configuration

The figure-8 loop provides two opposing scraping edges that enhance contact with the endometrial surface and improve retention of sampled tissue during withdrawal. A flexible shaft allows the tip to negotiate the cervical canal and conform to variable uterine angles, reducing levering forces at the fundus and lowering the risk of perforation. The 31 cm overall length provides working reach from the operator’s hand to the uterine cavity while maintaining comfortable control in OR and ambulatory settings.
