Clinical Application
Designed for urologic stone management, this Randall kidney stone forceps is intended to grasp and extract renal and bladder calculi and small calculous fragments during open or limited-access urologic procedures. Its 19 cm length provides a balance of reach and control for procedures requiring direct manual retrieval of stones, including cystolithotomy, nephrolithotomy adjuncts, and intraoperative stone removal during reconstructive urology.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.6 Randall jaw geometry is configured to provide a secure, centered grip on rounded or irregular calculi while limiting crush or fragmentation. Ring handles with a ratchet locking mechanism allow the operator to maintain a consistent hold without continuous manual pressure, improving control during extraction and transfer of retrieved material. The overall length delivers practical reach into pelvic and renal cavities while preserving tactile feedback for the surgeon.
