Clinical Application
Used for rapid removal of blood, secretions and irrigant from the oropharynx and superficial operative field. The compact 10 cm length provides short reach appropriate for oropharyngeal suctioning, anesthesia airway management, and procedures where controlled, tactile suctioning of exposed surfaces is required. Common settings include general surgery, ENT, oral/maxillofacial and dental cases, as well as routine use in induction and emergence from anesthesia.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.0 Yankauer employs the classic paddle-shaped tip and rigid shaft geometry that facilitates high-flow aspiration with minimal mucosal engagement. The profile allows the clinician to maintain a wide lumen for evacuation while preserving tactile control at the tip, reducing the tendency to occlude suction during use. The shorter 10 cm length improves maneuverability in confined spaces and promotes precise positioning for surface suctioning.
