Clinical Application
Provides a controlled, small-diameter access port for minimally invasive abdominal procedures. The 4 mm cannula is intended for use as a secondary working or visualization port in laparoscopic procedures, permitting passage of small-caliber instruments and optics while minimizing fascial disruption. The integrated stopcock enables controlled insufflation, gas management and rapid sealing during instrument exchanges, making this trocar suitable for general surgery, gynecology, urology and pediatric laparoscopy where reduced port size is advantageous.
Design & Configuration
The instrument combines a slender 4 mm cannula at a 12 cm working length with an integral stopcock valve. The smaller cannula diameter reduces the tissue defect created at the entry site and can lower trocar-site trauma and the theoretical risk of herniation compared with larger ports. The 12 cm length accommodates variable abdominal wall thicknesses while maintaining internal working length for instrument manipulation. The stopcock allows the operator to establish and maintain pneumoperitoneum, control insufflation flow, and rapidly occlude the lumen during instrument exchanges to reduce gas loss.
