Clinical Application

This device provides controlled peritoneal access and a sealed passage for 5.0 mm laparoscopic instruments and optics. It is intended for establishing and maintaining pneumoperitoneum and for introducing or exchanging instruments during procedures in general surgery, gynecology, urology, and other minimally invasive procedures where 5 mm access ports are required.

Design & Configuration

The two-piece design separates a rigid cannula from its removable obturator/trocar. The integrated stop cock (valve) on the cannula allows controlled insufflation, attachment of insufflation tubing, and intermittent venting without removing the cannula. The 5.0 mm internal diameter is matched to standard 5 mm instruments and optics, minimizing dead space while preserving instrument mobility. A sealed valve design reduces gas loss and fluid ingress when instruments are exchanged.
