Clinical Application

Designed to provide controlled elevation and exposure of the trachea and adjacent soft tissues, this double-ended Rose trachea hook is used to retract the trachea during tracheostomy, to expose tracheal rings and the anterior neck during thyroid and parathyroid procedures, and to assist in other laryngotracheal or anterior cervical exposures. The hook’s geometry allows secure engagement of the tracheal cartilage for atraumatic retraction while maintaining a low profile in the operative field.

Design & Configuration

The double-ended configuration offers two hook orientations on a single shaft, enabling the operator to select the most appropriate hook angle without exchanging instruments. The 13 cm length provides adequate reach for standard adult neck procedures while keeping the handle outside the sterile field line of sight. The slim shaft and hooked tips are intended to engage tracheal cartilage securely, facilitating stable retraction and improved visualization of the operative site.
