Clinical Application
Designed to provide focused exposure of the anterior trachea, thymic tissue and adjacent structures, this double-ended retractor is used during tracheostomy, tracheal repair, thyroidectomy, thymectomy and other anterior neck or superior mediastinal procedures where controlled retraction and direct visualization of the airway are required.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) configuration places two complementary blade profiles on a single shaft so the surgeon can instantly reverse orientation or select the blade that best conforms to patient anatomy without exchanging instruments. The 17 cm overall length gives adequate reach for exposure in the operative field while keeping the hand-held portion accessible for precise manual control. Blade geometry is shaped to elevate and protect the airway and thymic tissue while maintaining a narrow footprint to preserve working space for suction, scopes, or adjacent instruments.
