Clinical Application

Designed for airway management in tracheostomy procedures, this Krishaber-pattern tube provides a secure, direct airway for short- and long-term ventilation, pulmonary toilet, and endotracheal suctioning. The 10 mm lumen is intended for adult airway use where a durable metal tube is preferred — for example, in surgical tracheostomies, head and neck cases where repeated tube removal/replacement is anticipated, or when resistance to kinking and external compression is required.

Design & Configuration

The Fig. 6 Krishaber geometry features the classic curved profile that follows the anterior tracheal axis, helping to center the lumen and reduce localized pressure on the tracheal wall. The integrated Luer connector provides a standardized interface for attachment of ventilation tubing, suction adaptors, and compatible ancillary devices. A 10 mm bore balances airway conductance with access for suctioning and instrument passage while retaining a compact external profile.
