Clinical Application
Provides a flexible airway conduit for controlled tracheal intubation and short-term intraoperative ventilation. The preformed Fig.3 curvature is intended to facilitate passage through the oropharynx into the trachea while minimizing manipulation of the laryngeal structures. Commonly used in general anesthesia, ENT and head & neck procedures, and in situations where a flexible, shapeable tube assists placement or exchange under direct or indirect visualization.
Design & Configuration
The flexible, preformed configuration allows the shaft to be shaped to match patient anatomy or the approach required by the procedure, reducing the need for forceful advancement. The Fig.3 curvature offers an anatomic alignment that aides entry into the glottic opening while the flexibility helps absorb translational stress and reduces the risk of focal mucosal pressure. This geometry is also helpful when guided placement with a laryngoscope or bronchoscope is planned.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Koenig trachea tube
- Model: Fig.3 (preformed curvature)
- Configuration: Flexible shaft designed for shaping
- Size: 7mm
- Intended use: Tracheal intubation and temporary airway maintenance during surgery
Material & Construction
Designed with a low-profile, atraumatic distal profile and a flexible shaft to permit controlled shaping and reduce mucosal abrasion during placement. The smooth external finish facilitates passage and cleaning; flexibility improves resistance to focal kinking during routine intraoperative manipulation.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
