Clinical Application
Designed for controlled elevation and retraction of the trachea and adjacent superficial neck tissues, this blunt trachea hook is used during tracheostomy, tracheal tube placement, cervicotomy, thyroid and parathyroid procedures, and other anterior neck or airway interventions. The blunt tip permits atraumatic engagement of the anterior tracheal rings and soft tissue, providing improved exposure for incision placement, tube insertion, or surgical dissection while minimizing risk of tissue perforation.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a single blunt hook geometry on a 16 cm shaft to deliver reach and control within the neck's confined operative field. The blunt configuration is intended to lift and stabilize the trachea without sharp penetration, reducing the risk of distal mucosal injury. The slim profile and length allow the assistant or surgeon to maintain exposure without excessive crowding of the wound or interference with instrumentation.
