Clinical Application
Long, curved tonsil forceps designed to securely grasp and stabilize tonsillar and peritonsillar tissue during adenotonsillectomy and other oropharyngeal procedures. The curved shaft and distal jaws permit atraumatic capture of bulky or deep-seated tissue while maintaining visibility and control in the confined surgical field of the oropharynx. Common uses include tissue retraction for dissection, delivery of tonsillar tissue to the operating field, and assisting with suture or ligature placement.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry provides improved access around the curvature of the tongue and tonsillar pillars, enabling a direct line of traction without excessive hand reorientation. Closed-ring finger handles offer stable finger placement and precise manipulation for controlled grasping and release. The overall 19 cm length balances reach into the oral cavity with tactile responsiveness at the tips, facilitating controlled tissue handling in pediatric and adult cases.
