Clinical Application
Designed for indirect visualization of the oropharynx and larynx, this mirror facilitates routine ENT exams, diagnostic inspection of vocal folds and supraglottic structures, assessment for lesions or foreign bodies, and intraoperative orientation during minor laryngeal procedures. The 28 mm diameter provides a balance between field of view and intraoral access, making it suitable for adults and many adolescent patients. Common clinical settings include outpatient ENT clinics, preoperative assessments, and auxiliary use in the operating room.
Design & Configuration
The circular 28 mm reflecting surface offers a controlled field of view while allowing insertion without excessive patient gagging. A handle provides the clinician with stable one-handed control and precise angulation to reflect light onto the target structures. The Fig.9 pattern denotes a conventional laryngeal mirror geometry optimized for indirect visualization; the compact mirror diameter reduces obstruction of the oral aperture while still permitting clear visualization of the glottic and supraglottic areas when used with appropriate technique (tongue displacement and patient phonation).
