Clinical Application
Designed for indirect laryngoscopy and focused examination of the oropharynx and laryngeal inlet, this mirror facilitates visualization of vocal folds, supraglottic structures, and posterior pharynx without fiberoptic equipment. Its 22 mm diameter is well suited to adult and some pediatric examinations where a compact field of view and ease of insertion through a restricted oral aperture are required. Common uses include office-based ENT exams, preoperative airway assessment, foreign-body localization, and intraoperative adjunct visualization.
Design & Configuration
The instrument combines a mirror head sized for balance between field of view and access with a hand-held handle to provide steady, controlled positioning. The Fig.6 pattern denotes a traditional ENT mirror geometry that places the reflective surface at an orientation optimized for line-of-sight visualization of laryngeal structures when used with standard head positioning. The integrated handle aids single-operator control and gentle manipulation in confined oral and pharyngeal spaces.
