Clinical Application
Designed for blunt and sharp mobilization of palatine tonsils during tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy, this dissector provides controlled tissue elevation, dissection of the tonsillar capsule from the tonsillar bed, and assistance with exposure for ligation or snare placement. The instrument is appropriate for use in routine ENT operative settings, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital operating rooms where precise atraumatic handling of oropharyngeal tissue is required.
Design & Configuration
The D/E double-ended configuration gives the surgeon two working ends on a single shaft to alternate between complementary tasks without instrument changes. The 12 mm working end offers a broad contact surface for atraumatic traction and blunt dissection, while the overall 23.5 cm length balances intraoral reach with tactile control. The geometry supports controlled peeling of the tonsillar capsule and safe manipulation in the confines of the oropharynx.
