Clinical Application
Designed for ENT procedures, primarily tonsillectomy and other oropharyngeal interventions, this seizing forceps is used to grasp, elevate and stabilize tonsillar tissue during dissection, ligation and hemostasis. The instrument provides secure purchase on soft tissue to facilitate controlled traction and precise tissue handling without relying on excessive compression.
Design & Configuration
The straight 19 cm shaft offers adequate reach into the oropharynx while keeping the surgeon's hand outside the field for improved ergonomics. A ring-handle with a locking ratchet secures tissue position without continuous manual pressure, allowing the assistant or surgeon to maintain traction during cutting or suture placement. Serrated jaw surfaces reduce slippage on moist soft tissue and help distribute grip force to minimize tearing.
