Clinical Application
This long, 40 cm Chevalier Jackson forceps is intended for endoscopic retrieval and grasping in airway and upper digestive tract procedures. It is used by otolaryngology and thoracic surgery teams for removal of foreign bodies, extraction of impacted material, and controlled tissue manipulation during rigid bronchoscopy or esophagoscopy under direct visualization.
Design & Configuration
The elongated 40 cm shaft provides reach for distal pharyngeal, tracheal and proximal bronchial access while maintaining tactile control at the handle. The classic Chevalier Jackson Fig. 5 geometry places precision grasping jaws at the distal tip to engage and stabilize small objects within the lumen. The slender profile facilitates passage through rigid endoscopes or alongside laryngoscopes with minimal obstruction of the visual field.
