Clinical Application

Design & Configuration

The Finochietto-style device uses a self-retaining rack-and-pinion mechanism to achieve precise, incremental distraction and secure maintenance of the desired intercostal space. Interchangeable blade faces cradle the ribs, spreading load across the contact surface to reduce focal bone stress and help reduce the risk of rib fracture. The ratcheting control permits smooth, controlled opening and reversal, allowing fine adjustments intraoperatively.
