Clinical Application
This flexible ligature needle is designed to pass suture around vessels, pedicles, ducts and other anatomic structures in deep or confined operative fields. Its 20 cm length provides additional reach for procedures in abdominal, pelvic, thoracic and head & neck surgery where a rigid needle cannot access or where a suture must be routed around anatomic structures. It is commonly used for vessel ligation, tying off small pedicles, and shuttling ligature material through windows created with retractors or blunt dissection.
Design & Configuration
A flexible shaft allows the needle to follow curved paths and to be manipulated around structures without the need for repeated needle reorientation. The length supports controlled, single-pass passage of suture in deep cavities, reducing instrument exchanges. The flexible configuration also facilitates retrieval of the needle or suture from the opposite side of a structure, enabling efficient ligation in limited-access anatomy.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Flexible ligature needle
- Configuration: Flexible shaft for passage of suture around structures
- Length: 20 cm
- Typical surgical use: Vessel ligation and shuttling suture in deep or confined operative fields
- Material: Surgical stainless steel
- Reusable: Designed for repeated sterilization and clinical use
Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel to provide the combination of flexibility and strength required for controlled needle passage. The flexible shaft is engineered to transmit tactile feedback to the operator while resisting permanent deformation under normal clinical use. The instrument is built for reusable workflows and is compatible with standard cleaning and sterilization protocols.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
