Clinical Application
Designed for controlled passage of suture around vessels, pedicles and tubular structures in deep or confined operative fields. The Deschamps ligature needle is commonly used during general, vascular and gynecologic procedures to place ligatures without extensive dissection, facilitating secure vessel ligation, pedicle ligation and atraumatic suture placement where direct visualization is limited.
Design & Configuration
The right-curved, sharp geometry and 21 cm length permit the instrument to follow anatomic contours and reach beneath or around structures with minimal tissue retraction. The sharp point allows piercing or passage through fascia and connective tissues when a controlled transposition of the suture is required, while the curved profile makes it easier to encircle vessels or pedicles and retrieve the ligature from the opposite side.
