Clinical Application
Designed to provide focused lateral tissue retraction during anterior cervical spine procedures, this lateral blade is used with a Caspar retractor system to maintain a stable surgical corridor for discectomy, interbody work, and anterior instrumentation. Its 60x20 mm footprint offers targeted exposure of the disc space and lateral soft tissues while minimizing obstruction to the operative field.
Design & Configuration
The lateral geometry concentrates retraction force along a narrow, elongated surface to displace soft tissues and the longus colli muscle laterally without excessive bulk in the operative field. The 60 mm length permits reach into the cervical wound while the 20 mm width balances tissue control with visibility. The blade attaches to the Caspar retractor arm to provide stable, hands-free retraction throughout the procedure.
