Clinical Application
These blades are intended for use with Caspar-style self-retaining cervical retractors to provide and maintain surgical exposure during anterior cervical spine procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and related anterior cervical approaches. The blade footprint gives a stable field of view while controlling soft-tissue edges, reducing the need for hand-held retraction and permitting a two-handed operative technique.
Design & Configuration
The 50x37 mm rectangular blade plate provides a balance between exposure area and tissue contact surface. A broader footprint distributes retraction forces across soft tissue to reduce localized pressure, while a low-profile geometry minimizes obstruction to the operative corridor. These blades are supplied as interchangeables for Caspar-style blade posts, enabling quick installation and positional adjustment within a self-retaining retractor frame.
