Clinical Application
Blunt retractor blades for the Caspar retractor are used to maintain atraumatic exposure of the anterior cervical spine and adjacent soft tissues during anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and other anterior cervical procedures. These replacement blades provide predictable, stable tissue retraction and are intended to be mounted to a Caspar retractor frame or holder to establish and maintain a surgical corridor while minimizing soft-tissue injury.
Design & Configuration
The 50 x 24 mm rectangular profile offers moderate width and length to balance exposure and soft-tissue protection in typical anterior cervical approaches. A blunt leading edge reduces the risk of soft-tissue or neurovascular trauma while the flat geometry facilitates even distribution of retraction force across the operative field. The blade dimensions are intended to fit standard Caspar-style blade mounts, providing a secure interface with the retractor frame and reliable positional stability during instrumentation and grafting.
