Clinical Application
This medial retractor blade is designed for use with Caspar retractor systems to provide controlled, atraumatic retraction of anterior cervical soft tissues during anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), corpectomy, and related anterior cervical procedures. Positioned on the medial arm, the blade establishes and maintains the operative corridor to the vertebral bodies while allowing access for discectomy, endplate preparation and instrumentation placement.
Design & Configuration
The blade's low-profile, rectangular footprint (55x24 mm) provides a broad contact surface to distribute retraction forces while minimizing bulk within the operative field. The medial orientation helps centralize retraction toward the midline, improving exposure of vertebral bodies and disc spaces. The slim profile reduces interference with microscope and fluoroscopic imaging and permits unobstructed instrument access along the retractor arms.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Medial blade for Caspar retractor
- Pattern / model: Caspar retractor blade
- Configuration: Medial, low-profile rectangular blade
- Size: 55x24 mm
- Typical use: Anterior cervical exposure (ACDF, corpectomy)

Material & Construction
Constructed from titanium as indicated by the TiT designation, the blade offers strength and corrosion resistance with a lightweight profile appropriate for repeated use on retractor assemblies. The design favors smooth, atraumatic tissue contact surfaces to minimize focal compression of soft tissues. Reusable construction supports standard hospital reprocessing workflows; follow facility sterilization and inspection protocols between uses.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
