Clinical Application
Mixter scissors are used to dissect tissue planes and to pass sutures, ligatures or vessel loops around tubular structures in confined or deep operative fields. The blunt/blunt tip configuration minimizes inadvertent cutting during blunt dissection and when creating a safe tunnel around vessels or ducts. This size (15.5 cm) provides moderate reach while maintaining tactile control for general, vascular, gynecologic and urologic procedures where controlled blunt separation or suture passage is required.
Design & Configuration
The straight shaft with the Mixter pattern geometry permits access into narrow spaces while orienting the tip to work around the circumference of a structure. Blunt/blunt jaws are designed to spread and separate tissue atraumatically rather than to incise, reducing the risk of vascular or ductal injury during dissection. The instrument balance and moderate length support precise tip control for ligation and suture placement in deep or obscured planes.
