Clinical Application
Provides a stable, hand-held platform for detachable scalpel blades used to perform precise soft-tissue incisions. Commonly used in general surgery, minor procedures, ENT, plastic and reconstructive cases, and outpatient or ambulatory surgery settings where a reusable metal handle is preferred. The design supports controlled cutting motions and tactile feedback important for undermining, sharp dissection, and skin incisions.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.5 configuration features a slim, elongated shaft and a secure blade seating interface that aligns the cutting edge for accurate incisions. A balanced profile and textured grip area improve ergonomic control during delicate maneuvers and reduce hand fatigue across repeated procedures. The detachable-blade mount enables quick blade changes while maintaining firm, repeatable seating to minimize play at the blade junction.
