Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for removal of adenoid tissue from the nasopharynx during adenoidectomy. The curette enables controlled coring, scooping and avulsion of hypertrophic adenoids under direct visualization (endoscopic or mirror-assisted) or during traditional transoral approaches. Its size and geometry are suited for pediatric and smaller adult anatomy where precise, tactile tissue engagement is required.
Design & Configuration
An elongated 21 cm shaft provides sufficient reach to access the posterior nasopharyngeal vault through the oral cavity while maintaining ergonomic control at the handle. The 14 mm curette tip offers a balance between tissue bite and maneuverability: large enough to remove appreciable cores of adenoid tissue but compact enough for fine positioning in confined anatomy. The curette geometry allows the surgeon to apply controlled rotational or sweeping motions to core and displace tissue toward suction or graspers.
