Clinical Application
This cannula is intended to provide controlled access to the frontal sinus for intraoperative irrigation, lavage, clearance of secretions, and delivery of topical medications during endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and related rhinologic procedures. Its fine 1.7 mm tip is suited to pass into narrow frontal recesses and frontal ostia where precise irrigation or aspiration is required to facilitate visualization and mucosal management.
Design & Configuration
The Siebenmann design presents a slender, rigid hollow shaft with a small-diameter tip to enable reach and fluid exchange within confined frontal sinus anatomy. A 15 cm overall length provides working reach from standard transnasal endoscopic access to the frontal recess and sinus floor. The small tip diameter minimizes disruption in tight spaces while allowing effective irrigation and gentle aspiration when connected to suction or irrigation systems.
