Clinical Application

This blunt Myles curette is designed for controlled mechanical removal of soft tissue from cavities, most commonly the uterine cavity during dilation and curettage (D&C), endometrial biopsy, evacuation of retained products of conception, and intrauterine polyp or tissue removal. The blunt rim is intended to reduce the risk of tissue perforation while permitting efficient scraping and collection of specimens for histologic evaluation. It is suited to use in outpatient gynecology clinics, hospital operating rooms, and ambulatory surgery centers.

Design & Configuration

The instrument features a spoon/oval loop geometry that concentrates scraping force along a smooth, blunt cutting edge to separate soft tissue without sharp incisions. The straight shank and 17 cm overall length provide reach and tactile feedback for digital control during intra-cavity maneuvering.
