Clinical Application
Used to raise and mobilize the mucoperichondrial and mucoperiosteal layers from the nasal septum, enabling access for septal cartilage reshaping, cartilage graft harvesting, osteotomy exposure, and correction of septal deviations. The 4 mm elevator blade provides a balance between surface area for controlled blunt dissection and a narrow profile for working within the limited confines of the nasal cavity. Appropriate for primary and revision septoplasty, as well as adjunctive maneuvers in open or closed rhinoplasty.
Design & Configuration
The combination of a 4 mm blade width with a 15 cm shaft length is intended to deliver precise submucosal elevation while maintaining distance from the external nasal framework. The blade geometry concentrates blunt force to separate mucoperichondrium from the underlying cartilage and bone with minimal shearing, helping preserve mucosal integrity. Shaft length provides sufficient reach into the nasal vault and allows the surgeon to maintain ergonomic hand position and tactile feedback during delicate dissection.
