Clinical Application
Designed for rhinology and otolaryngology procedures, this turbinate forceps provides controlled tissue handling during turbinate reduction, partial turbinectomy, medialization, and related intranasal work. The atraumatic jaws permit secure grasping of mucosa and soft tissue for excision, repositioning, or atraumatic traction while minimizing crush injury. It is useful in clinic and operating room settings, including septoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery adjunct tasks where precise distal reach is required.
Design & Configuration
The 19 cm shaft length and Figure 1 curvature place the working jaws deeper in the nasal cavity without obstructing the surgeon's line of sight. The slender profile reduces interference with endoscopes and suction, while the specific jaw curvature aligns with the anatomy of the inferior and middle turbinates to improve tissue access and control. Atraumatic jaw surfaces are configured to grasp soft mucosal tissue securely with minimal surface trauma, helping preserve surrounding mucosa during resection or out-fracture maneuvers.
